Engage your Students with Experiential Learning

We offer high school students experiential learning through our Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs across all sectors. Sign your students up for courses offered at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, Halton Hills.

Cost: In-Person

Half Day – 3 Hours (1 certification) $45 + HST

Full Day – 6 hours (up to 2 certifications) $60 + HST


$30+ HST per certification

Programs Offered

What’s the difference between a wolf and a coyote? Or the song of a robin versus a cardinal? Students learn about local species that they may even spot in their own backyard. They’ll learn to recognize animal tracks and scat, bird calls and plants. We use real specimens and students may encounter real wildlife.

Duration: Half day (3 hours)

What does it take to succeed in the workplace? Many employers look for strong leadership skills that are adaptable in today’s ever-changing world. Through experiential learning, students will develop hard and soft skills to build their own leadership style.

Duration: Half day (3 hours)

By the end of this course, students will learn how to use a GPS and be to able navigate confidently. Activities include a fast-paced geocaching challenge, the basics of map interpretation and navigation skills.

Duration: Full day (6 hours)
