Discover Grants for Agri-Environmental Projects
The Wellington Rural Water Quality Program provides funding for best management practices that improve soil and water quality. Grants for your projects may be available. For full program guidelines and application form, contact your CVC agricultural stewardship coordinator.

Ontario residents who own or lease land used for agriculture in the Wellington County are eligible to apply for the Wellington Rural Water Quality Program funding.
Successful applicants are required to complete an Environmental Farm Plan prior to receiving funding for farm projects. See How to Apply for application guidelines.

- Complete an Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) through the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association. An EFP is required for most applicants. Visit ontariosoilcrop.org or call 1-800-265-9751 to get started.
- Connect with your CVC agricultural stewardship coordinator to confirm eligibility and arrange a site visit. Your stewardship coordinator will provide you with the application form.
- Submit the application to your stewardship coordinator.

- Your stewardship coordinator submits your application to the Rural Water Quality Program review committee on your behalf. Your project is evaluated based on its potential to protect and improve water quality.
- You’ll be notified in writing if your project has been approved.
- Proceed with your project. Keep all receipts and invoices for reimbursement.
- Once your project has been completed, notify your agricultural stewardship coordinator to book a final site inspection.
- Submit the necessary paperwork to your stewardship coordinator. This includes invoices and proof of payment for all eligible project expenses.
- Your grant payment will be issued within four weeks of final site inspection and receipt of paperwork.
Funded Projects and Grants
Grants are provided to share the costs of project implementation. Grants may be combined but grant rates will be adjusted to ensure landowners don’t receive more than 100 per cent reimbursement of costs. Applicants must inform CVC if they expect to receive funding from other sources for the same project.
Grant rates apply per farm unless otherwise noted. An asterisk (*) next to a project or practice indicates its eligible for performance incentives.

| Manure storage decommissioning | 50% up to $3,000 per storage |
| Milking centre waste storage/treatment | 50% up to $5,000 |
| Natural area restoration and creation* | 80% up to $7,500 |

Performance Incentives
Performance incentives are paid after confirmation that the project is being managed according to program guidelines.
