  • The park is closed for the season and will re-open May 2025. No entry is permitted.

Trail Status

  • While construction of the linear works for the Erin Wastewater System Project and restoration is ongoing, the trail will be closed to the public. Sections of the trail are now closed for approximately 22 months lasting until June 2025. The CVC-owned portion of the ECT between 6th Line and Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh and the portion between 10th Line, Erin Village to Cataract Road, Town of Caledon will remain open during construction. Ice Conditions

  • Ice thickness is at 10 inches.
  • Ice surface conditions are snow covered.
  • The wetland bays close to the bridges and dams are not open, as well as any areas around and to the east of Bob’s Bridges. All areas will be signed on the lake.
  • Access to lake ice will only be permitted from three areas; two spots in parking lot P1 and at the amphitheatre near parking lot P3.
  • There is an area in front of parking lot P1 reserved for curling and skating when open; no fishing is permitted in this area.

Activities

  • Skating and curling are closed due to significant snow cover, and expected to be closed for the remainder of the season.
  • 2025 picnic bookings are now open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Reservations can be made at cvc.ca/picnics or by calling 1-800-367-0890 extension 7. Bookings are available between May 3rd and October 26th, 2025. Reservations can be made here online.

Sales and Rentals

  • Ice hole auguring is available at the rental shop.
  • Emerald shiners are available for purchase at the rental shop. Minnows from outside the conservation area are not permitted.
  • Ice fishing rod rentals are available online here.
  • Heated ice hut rentals are available online here.
  • Snowshoe rentals are available online here.

Trail Status

  • Trail conditions are fresh snow with packed snow underneath. Proper footwear and crampons recommended.
  • The Trail Link is closed between stations 5 and 7. Road section and Memorial Forest Trail is closed between station markers 23 to 35.

Tales on the Trail

  • ‘Hockey in the Wild’ by Nicholas Oldland is currently on display.

Special Events

  • Island Lake Bass Fishing Derby: July 12 – 13, 2025.
    • $7500 in cash prizes.
  • Tickets are now available at islandlakederby.ca

Construction Area Closures

The following trail and area closures are in effect while upgrades to the septic system are underway.
  • Trail link between stations 5 and 7. The full Vicki Baron Lakeside trail can be accessed by keeping to the trail by the lakeshore and through the covered bridge.
  • Road section between station marker 23-35.
  • The area southeast of the washroom building at the P4 parking lot area, as well as, half of P4 parking lot.
  • The area to the east of the rental shop.
  • The washrooms located near parking lot P4 are closed. There is a temporary non-accessible washroom trailer available at this location. Accessible washrooms near parking lot P1 will remain open during construction.
Please look for signage onsite and ask staff for help in planning your route if necessary.

Park Status

  • Please consider visiting on weekdays or early mornings/late afternoons on weekends and holidays. 
  • Please stay off the arch at the mill ruins; the infrastructure is not suitable or safe for people to stand on.

Trail Closure

  • The seasonal trail closure at Limehouse Conservation Area is in effect. The section of Bruce Trail between the parking lot link trail and the hole in the wall will be closed due to unsafe winter conditions. It will remain closed for the winter season. See map here.

  • Region of Peel construction work on the new pump station at the Silver Birch entrance is currently underway. The trail access from Silver Birch (Station 15 on the map) is closed to the public.   • Park Store: Open on weekends. Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • 2025 picnic facility bookings can be made daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by phone and 24 hours a day online.  Reservations can be made at cvcparks.ca, or by calling 1-800-367-0890 extension 7. Bookings are available between May 3rd and October 26th, 2025.

Trail Status

  • Trails are currently fresh snow with packed snow underneath.  Proper footwear and crampons are recommended.
  •  Ski Conditions: All trails except Forest Meadow Loop are groomed and track set.

Activities

  • Snowshoeing is available.
  • Cross country skiing is available.
  • Kicksledding is available.
  • The ice rink on Wolf Lake is closed for skating for the season.
  • The skating rink in the Wetland Pavilion is available. Reservations may be made online or over the phone.  Walk-in rental for Wetland Pavilion ice rink is permitted based on conditions and availability.

Special Events

  • Ignite the Night
    • Explore winter trail light displays every Saturday night from January 4 – March 1, 2025.
    • 6:30 p.m. – to 9:00 p.m.
    • Regular admission applies.
    • Ski and snowshoe rentals are available.
      • Please note that all equipment rentals are due back by 8:00 p.m., and no equipment will be rented out past 7:00 p.m. To get the full 4-hour rental timeslot, equipment would have to be rented by 4:00 p.m.
    • Cross country skiers remain on TC Lane during Ignite the Night.
    • No admittance is available after 8:00 p.m. as the experience takes a minimum of an hour to enjoy
  • Maple Syrup in the Park
    • Experience the Canadian tradition of maple syrup production through interactive demonstrations and kids activities at Terra Cotta Conservation Area.
    • March 13 to 16, 22 and 23
    • 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
    • Save $3 per ticket from February 7 to 23
