Trail Status

  • While construction of the linear works for the Erin Wastewater System Project and restoration is ongoing, the trail will be closed to the public. Sections of the trail are now closed for approximately 22 months lasting until June 2025. The CVC-owned portion of the ECT between 6th Line and Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh and the portion between 10th Line, Erin Village to Cataract Road, Town of Caledon will remain open during construction.   • As of January 18th the Elora Cataract Trailway is open with limited access to snowmobile use.  OFSC permits are required. For up to date trail status and conditions visit ofsc.on.ca/trail-maps.

Activities

  • Ice fishing is open.
  • Snowshoeing is unavailable due to snow conditions.
  • Skating is open on rinks adjacent to Parking lot #1.

Ice Conditions

  • The ice surface is open and can only be accessed at both ends of parking lot P1 and beside the Amphitheatre near parking lot P3. Shorelines have not been deemed safe in any other location.
  • The ice surface is closed past Bob’s Bridges (east), the bays near highway 10 past the west bridges and at the north and south dams. Please obey all signage on site.
  • Ice is currently measured to be about 9″ of black ice.

Sales and Rentals

  • Minnows are available for purchase at the rental shop. Live bait from outside of the Conservation Area is not permitted. Artificial bait is the only bait allowed from outside of the park.
  • Ice rod rentals are available. Reservations can be made here and can be made up to two weeks in advance.
  • Fat Tire Bike rentals are currently unavailable due to icy trail conditions.
  • Ice Huts are available. Reservations can be made here for this weekend only.
    • The last day for ice huts will be Sunday February 25th. Ice huts will be unavailable after this date.
  • 2024 picnic reservations are now available to book. Available dates range from May 4 – October 27, 2024. Reservations can be made here

Trail Status

  • Trails are currently a mix of snowy and icy conditions. Proper footwear and aids such as crampons are recommended.

Parking

  • The Home Hardware parking lot is closed indefinitely for trail users. Vehicles will be towed.
  • Parking lot #2 and #3 are closed.

Park Status

  • Please consider visiting on weekdays or early mornings/late afternoons on weekends and holidays. 
  • Please stay off the arch at the mill ruins; the infrastructure is not suitable or safe for people to stand on.

Trail Status

  • The winter closure of the Bruce Trail between the parking lot Link Trail and Hole-in-the-Wall feature will be in effect beginning December 22. Please see the available trails at the map below.

  • Region of Peel construction work on the new pump station at the Silver Birch entrance is currently underway. The trail access from Silver Birch is closed to the public. Please use an alternate access to the conservation area. For inquiries about this project, please contact the Region of Peel at [email protected].

Trail Status

  • Trails are currently deteriorating snow conditions with a layer of ice underneath. Proper footwear and crampons are recommended.
  • Ski trails are closed.
  • The lookout trail between station 10-11 on Terra Cotta Lane at the west end of Wolf Lake is closed until further notice.

Activities

  • 2024 picnic reservations are now available to book.  Available dates range from May 4 – October 27, 2024. Reservations can be made here.
  • Snowshoeing is closed.
  • Kicksledding is closed.
  • Skating is currently unavailable.
  • Cross country skiing rentals and ski trails are closed.

Trail Closure from January 5th to March 31st, 2024

Bruce Trail Users

Access to the Bruce Trail is closed at the west entry at 10th Line of Terra Cotta Conservation Area where the main trail meets the Terra Cotta Side Trail to the East and the Credit Valley Footpath to the West. There are no reroutes for this section of the trail, you will need to turn back. Terra Cotta Conservation Area will not be accessible at the 10th Line entrance. The closure is expected to take place from January 5th to March 31st, 2024 to accommodate the construction of a new bridge at this site.

Terra Cotta CA Visitors

The Graydon Trail between stations 20 and 21 is closed from January 5th to March 31st, 2024 to accommodate the construction of a new bridge at this site. There are no reroutes for this section of the trail, you will need to turn back. Terra Cotta Conservation Area will not be accessible at the 10th Line entrance.

  • Ignite the Night: Come enjoy a 2 km hike through an illuminated forest. Saturday nights until February 28 from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM. More information can be found here. Last date is February 24, 2024.
  • Celebrate Maple Season:

      • Maple Syrup in the Park:  Fun for the whole family at our annual festival! March 14th -17th, 23rd, and 24th.
      • VIP Tours of Maple Syrup in the Park:  Get the ultimate experience with a gourmet breakfast, tour of the sugarbush and everything else the festival has to offer. Weekends: March 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th.
      • Sugarbush Wagon Rides:  Great for kids ages 12 and under to explore the sugarbush after a fun wagon ride on Terra Cotta Lane! Join us on April 13th.
    • More Fun Experiences: cvc.ca/mapleseason
      • Lamplight – Maple Syrup After Dark: Enjoy live music and maple-themed food and drink in the illuminated sugarbush!  Join us April 6th.
      • Sap to Syrup – A Maple Syrup Making Experience: Make your own bottle of maple syrup in the sugar shack! Join us April 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th.
      • Corporate VIP Tours of Maple Syrup in the Park are also available, bring your team out!  March 14th or 15th.

Admission Notice March 14th – 17th and 23rd, 24th

  • From 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on March 14th – 17th and 23rd, 24th. Admission fees for Maple Syrup in the Park apply. Regular day use admission fees will resume from 4 PM – 5:30 PM each day. Visitors with a Credit Valley Parks Pass will still receive free admission.

Facilities

  • The Bruce Trail Rest Site is closed from January 2nd-March 31st due to a trail closure.
