We’re Celebrating 70 Years of Conservation
In 2024, Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) celebrates 70 years of conservation. In 1954, the municipalities in the Credit River Watershed leveraged the Conservation Authorities Act to partner and create the Credit Valley Conservation Authority, in response to growing concerns that changing land uses and deforestation were contributing to deteriorating water quality, flooding and soil erosion.
Today, the watershed continues to face stressors, but together with an inspired community, we continue to take on the ground action rooted in science to improve the health of the watershed.
Our 70-year legacy inspires us to continue serving our local communities and municipal partners, creating a watershed where a diversity of all life thrives.
We’re immensely grateful to the dedicated individuals behind our 70 years of success.
