Head outside with your class this winter and try these quick activities from “Five Minute Field Trips:”

K-Grade 3:

• Hone into nature’s words (p. 15) by finding a multitude of textures outside.
• Study the four seasons of a tree (p. 34) with your students and see how it changes throughout the year.

Grade 4-6:

• Create your own bird feeder and set it up outside your classroom window.
• Take action in Project Feederwatch, a monitoring program that relies on community involvement to keep track of bird populations and species.
