Explore the Transformation of a New Landscape Through Photography in Celebration of the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area Opening

May 20, 2026 | Mississauga, ON – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites the public to attend the final presentation of Morphology 2026: A Photography Exhibition, capturing the remarkable transformation of a new 26‑hectare landscape the Lake Ontario shoreline.

This free event will be held at the Small Arms Inspection Building from May 23 to June 3 and is hosted in partnership with CreativeHub 1352. The exhibition marks the completion of nine years of photography, captured by local photo artists, documenting the site’s evolution from former industrial lands to a restored habitat. This culminating showcase explores our evolving relationship with water and landscapes and highlights shared stewardship in protecting the Great Lakes.

“Morphology tells the story of change over time,” said Terri LeRoux, Chief Administrative Officer at Credit Valley Conservation. “It reflects not only the physical transformation of this landscape, but also the shared commitment of partners, artists, and the community to restoring nature and reconnecting people to the waterfront.”

The exhibition was inspired by the late Jim Tovey, the former Mississauga and Peel Regional Councillor and passionate environmental advocate whose vision and leadership helped shape the revitalization of the Lakeview shoreline. Jim believed deeply in the power of art to foster connection to nature, environmental science and Lake Ontario, a belief reflected throughout the Morphology 2026 exhibition.
