Acton SNAP Action Plan
The Action Plan, funded by Halton Region and endorsed by the CVC Board and Town Council in March 2026, is a community-focused plan that highlights opportunities to enhance the local environment. The Acton SNAP is also part of the Fairy Lake Revival initiative and advances recommendations from CVC’s Black Creek Subwatershed Study and Halton Region’s Total Phosphorus Offset Strategy.
“We want to keep Acton healthy, beautiful and thriving for everyone,” says Mayor Ann Lawlor. “That’s why the Town is partnering with Credit Valley Conservation and Halton Region to launch the Acton Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan, helping the community become greener and more resilient.”
Input from more than 870 Acton residents at 18 events in 2025 helped shape the four goals and 22 priority actions of the plan. These actions will focus on improving the health of Fairy Lake, Black Creek, Bovis Creek and nearby natural areas, while also increasing climate resilience in Acton.
“The Acton SNAP is shaped by local voices and reflects the community’s priorities. It empowers residents, organizations and partners to take practical steps toward sustainability,” says Terri LeRoux, Chief Administrative Officer at CVC and longtime Acton resident. “It underscores our shared commitment to achieving meaningful results in the community.”
“Halton Region is proud to join Credit Valley Conservation, the Town of Halton Hills and Acton residents in transforming community ideas into meaningful action that will protect the natural heritage systems and water resources of Fairy Lake, Black Creek, Bovis Creek and nearby natural areas—creating a shared vision for a greener, stronger and more sustainable Acton for future generations,” says Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr.
