Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) has launched three new digital tools to help rural landowners better understand and manage the condition of their wells, septic systems and woodlots.
“In response to requests from rural landowners for more digital resources, we developed three online, self-guided assessment tools focused on wells, septic systems and woodlots,” said Kate Hayes, Senior Manager, Ecosystem Restoration and Management at CVC. “These tools help landowners assess the condition of important property assets and identify actions to keep them healthy and manage risks.”
The free, easy-to-use tools provide personalized recommendations to help protect wells, septic systems and woodlots while supporting healthier properties, local waterways and wildlife habitat.
Eighty per cent of the land within the Credit River Watershed is privately owned, making rural landowners key partners in protecting and restoring the health of the watershed. To support landowners, CVC provides expert advice and practical resources, making it easier to protect properties and local waterways.
The digital tools are already having an impact. Since launching last year, rural landowners have completed more than 100 assessments to better understand and manage their properties. Additional tools to assess other private land features will launch later this year.
