Celebrate the New Acton SNAP
Join us to plant native trees and shrubs in Tanners Woodlot. Trees help fight climate change by storing carbon dioxide and providing natural cooling on hot summer days. They also create habitat for local wildlife and add beauty to your community.
Help us make the Acton SNAP neighbourhood more sustainable and ready for a changing climate. This event is part of the new Acton Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP).
Location:
Meet us beside Tanners Drive Park. Please park at the Acton Arena.
What to Wear and Bring:
- For your own safety, wear a hat, long pants, long socks (to tuck your pants into) and closed-toed shoes.
- This is a rain-or-shine event. Please dress for the weather.
- Your own reusable water bottle (we have water to refill from).
- Sunscreen and bug spray.
Additional Information:
- Event starts promptly at 9:30am. Please arrive on time.
- Registration is recommended. Register for this event by noon on October 17th.
- Washroom amenities and concession stands will be available inside Acton Arena.
- Volunteers under 18 please bring a signed copy of our waiver, or bring your parent/guardian to sign you in at the event.
- Volunteers over 18 please read the event waiver. You will sign this at the event.
- Participants collecting volunteer hours, please notify staff at the event.
