Help us Restore Native Habitat for Wildlife
Join us to help control the spread of invasive species in Rattray Marsh Conservation Area. Participants will help remove invasive species that are impacting the survival of native plants and animals. These actions help restore habitat for our native wildlife to survive and allow a more diverse ecosystem to thrive. We will focus on hand pulling plants such as Garlic mustard and Buckthorn.
Location
- Meet us at the entrance on Green Glade. Parking is available at Green Glade Public School and along the road. Please pay attention to road signs.
What to Wear
- For your own safety, wear a hat, long pants, long socks (to tuck your pants into) and closed-toed shoes.
- This is a rain-or-shine event. Please dress for the weather.
What to Bring
- Your own reusable water bottle (we have water to refill from).
- Sunscreen and bug spray.
Additional Information
- Please arrive on time. The event will begin promptly at 9:30am.
- Registration is recommended. Register for this event by Friday, May 9 at noon.
- Washroom amenities are not available.
- Volunteers over 18 please read the event waiver. You will sign this at the event.
- Volunteers under 18 please bring a signed copy of our waiver, or bring your parent/guardian to sign you in at the event.
- Participants collecting volunteer hours please notify staff at the event.
