The Acton Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP) is a community-driven roadmap designed to make Acton greener, healthier and ready for the future. It brings together residents, local businesses, institutions and partners to protect nature, improve water quality and build a climate-resilient neighbourhood where people and nature thrive together.
Summary of Key Findings by Consultation Activity
In 2022, Credit Valley Conservation (“CVC”) and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (“TRCA”) completed a screening process in partnership with City of Mississauga which identified locations for potential future SNAP projects through consideration of known vulnerabilities in the environment and built form, infrastructure renewal priorities, watershed management and green infrastructure priorities, greenhouse gas reduction priorities, and socio-economic priorities.
The Cooksville Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP) is an intersectoral, community-centred collaboration focused on the vibrant and beloved neighbourhood of Cooksville in Mississauga, Ontario. The plan aims to catalyze movement to support this priority neighbourhood and its natural areas through locally tailored actions fostering a greener, healthier and climate-resilient community.

and the key steps for responding to ice jam events, including ice monitoring and communication strategies
CVC retained Beacon Environmental Limited with Green Analytics and Associated Engineering to develop reasonable and defensible life cycle cost estimates for the creation, restoration or rehabilitation and long-term management of selected natural assets. This version precedes the Natural and Enhanced Asset Lifecycle Replacement Costing published in 2025, which expands on methodology and includes costing for many more natural asset types.
In partnership with local landowners, municipal staff and ministries, CVC has completed the Shaws Creek Subwatershed Study. This report represents the last phase in the subwatershed study series, preceded by the Background Report (2006) and the Characterization Report (2012).
The Hungry Hollow SNAP Background Report is a foundational document to the Hungry Hollow Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan. It profiles existing neighbourhood conditions; documents consultation, social market research and community engagement activities; and highlights the diversity of existing work, sustainability and climate change plans and programs at the watershed, municipal and regional scale.
The Hungry Hollow SNAP Action Plan outlines the vision, goals and actions recommended to make the Hungry Hollow SNAP neighbourhood in Georgetown more sustainable and resilient to the impacts of climate change. It was developed collaboratively by CVC and the Town of Halton Hills, in consultation with Halton Region and other local stakeholders and community members.
