Starting a new project can be daunting, but creating a plan can help break the project into simple steps—and good planning leads to good outcomes. For some projects, like tree planting, it’s not too late to start. Here are our steps for a successful planting project in 2025.
Step 1: Contact Us
Once you’ve decided to go ahead with a project, the first step is filling out our Get Started form. Be sure to include your specific project details. The sooner you fill out this form, the earlier we can book a free site visit and get your project started.
Step 2: Book a Site Visit
We’ll review your project request and reach out with the next steps, which may include booking a site visit. During this visit, we’ll assess your needs and the health of your property. This helps us determine the ideal planting project for your property. We’ll also discuss your project goals and potential funding options.
Step 3: Develop a Custom Planting Plan
Our forestry team will develop a planting plan unique to your property. Information gathered during the site visit, including soil type, light, and moisture levels, will help them design a planting project that will thrive and is tailored to your goals.
Step 4: Review Your Planting Plan
After our team drafts your custom planting plan, they’ll share it with you to ensure it meets your needs, make any final adjustments and confirm the project.
Also, at this time, the full costs of the planting project, along with any applicable funding opportunities and subsidies, will be shared and discussed.
Subsidies for tree planting projects can range from anywhere between 50 to 95 per cent off the total cost. Applicable funding sources, such as the Landowner Action Fund and Rural Water Quality Programs, may result in full costs being covered.
Step 5: Set a Date
All that’s left is to pick a date. We’ll work with you to arrange a good time for the planting. On the day of, we’ll do all the work for you.
Remember—if you act now, you could be in line for planting this spring!
We’re looking forward to working with you to improve your property and the health of your community through the power of trees.
