When the warm weather hits, get out on the water. Two of our parks offer outstanding experiences for those who love paddling and boating. You’ll connect with the beauty of nature – with a unique view. You can bring your own equipment or rent equipment from us.
Electric Boat Rentals
Electric boat rentals are no longer offered as a service at Island Lake Conservation Area. We do offer a range of paddlecraft options, which are listed below. At Credit Valley Parks, we are always reviewing and adjusting our services. Increased fluctuations in water levels are affecting our ability to ensure a high-quality and safe experience for visitors.
Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville
Island Lake offers a beautiful vista for new and experienced paddlers. Explore a 400-acre lake. Weave around the islands and through water lilies. See a variety of waterfowl, including loons, osprey and a variety of ducks. Watch a muskrat build his home or a largemouth bass swirl just under the water’s surface.

Canoe and kayak rentals include lifejacket, safety kit and paddles. Rentals are dependent on weather conditions and subject to availability.
Canoe Rentals
Canoes seat up to three people, with two seats and one person is able to sit in the middle on the floor, or premium canoes have three seats.
Kayaks
Sit-on single, tandem (two people) and fishing kayak are available.
Fishing kayaks seat one person and offers additional cargo space, with dry enclosed canisters built in, as well as one rod holder.
Walk-in Storage Bunk
Rentals/tours of the storage bunk are by appointment only. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards accepted for annual storage. Please call 1-800-367-0890 or email [email protected]Â to book an appointment.
Boat Launch
A boat launch is available for boats on trailers. The fee is $8 plus HST (free with Credit Valley Parks Pass) and includes a concrete surface and dock for easy access. Gas powered motors are not permitted on Island Lake. There is a free walk-in launch available for watercraft that can be launched by hand. Watercraft must be launched from these two launches located in parking lot P1.
Ken Whillans Conservation Area, Caledon Village
Ken Whillans is perfect for those looking for a leisurely paddle. Experience the awesome view of the Niagara Escarpment’s Devil’s Pulpit area. Listen to songbirds and dragonflies while gliding along calm waters. Drop a line and enjoy a leisure day of fishing at the park.

Kayaks
Single and tandem (two people) sit-on kayaks are available through Paddle Pod.
Paddle Pod is a paddle on demand kayak and paddleboard rental system. Guests use a free smartphone app to unlock a kayak or paddleboard, go for a paddle, and return the equipment when they’re done. Available during hours of operation, the last time for rental is 6 p.m.

Walk-in Boat Launch
Visitors must be able to walk their boat from the parking lot to the shoreline of Orchard Pond for access. There is no boat launch available for boats on trailers. Gas powered motors are not permitted. No boating access to Kidd Pond.
