Lake Conditions

• Calm conditions; all watercraft permitted. Green flag.

 

Station 1-3 on the Lakeside Trail is closed until mid December 2026.

• We are working on improvements to the park.  Station 1 – 3 on the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail (orange trail on the map) will be closed for boardwalk replacement until mid-December 2026. Trail access at 4th Avenue and Hwy 10 will remain open for visitors. 
• The Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail will not be a loop trail during this closure and you will have to retrace your steps to get back to the place you started from. Please plan accordingly. 
• Note this closure has been extended due to required project design changes.

  • October 3: 6:57 p.m., park closes at 7:30 p.m.
  • October 10: 6:45 p.m., park closes at 7:30 p.m.
  • October 11: 6:43 p.m., park closes at 7:30 p.m.
  • October 16: 6:34 p.m., park closes at 7:00 p.m.
  • October 17: 6:33 p.m., park closes at 7:00 p.m.
  • October 23: 6:23 p.m., park closes at 7:00 p.m.
  • October 24: 6:22 p.m., park closes at 7:00 p.m.

Sales and Rentals

• Paddlecraft rentals are available online here.
  • It is recommended to make a reservation in advance for weekends.
• Walk-in Paddlecraft rentals are available, weather permitting.
  • The last available rental time is 4:30p.m.
• Picnic facility rentals are available. Reservations can be made here.

Trail Status

• On Tuesday, September 29th, hazard tree work will occur on the Vicki Barron Trail between points 1-51 in the morning. The trail remains open with minor interruptions when a tree is felled. Temporary trail closure signs will be present when interruptions occur. 

Facilities

Please note that the two climbing logs at the natural playground have been closed for the season.

Island Lake Family Trail Closed

• Island Lake Family Trail from parking lot p6 is closed today from station 48- 51 for emergency closure.  The parking lot remains open and the Hockley Trail is open.
