June 7, 2021 – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites residents of Brampton’s Fletchers Creek SNAP neighbourhood to celebrate nature close to home at one of two online presentations of “Neighbourhood Nature” on June 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. or June 23, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Participants will discover ways to connect with nature, learn about the benefits of trees and how nature in our community supports our health and wellbeing.
“Brampton’s neighbourhoods are home to incredible natural assets like parks, creeks and urban forests that support our overall wellbeing and make our communities more resilient to climate change,” says Tooba Shakeel, Senior Coordinator, Sustainable Neighbourhoods at CVC. “We’ll help you discover and enjoy these natural assets close to home.”
During the online event, CVC will also launch the Fletchers Creek Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP) Neighbourhood Guide. This free pocket-guide features a map of local natural assets including natural areas, parks, the creek and trails. Learn about hidden natural gems and important services they provide us. A printed guide is being mailed to all residents and businesses of the Fletchers Creek SNAP neighbourhood and will be available electronically on CVC’s website thanks to funding from the Greenbelt Foundation.

About Fletchers Creek SNAP
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), City of Brampton and Region of Peel, in collaboration with local residents and leaders, have developed the Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan for Brampton’s Fletchers Creek Neighbourhood. This action-oriented plan advances Brampton 2040 Vision: Living the Mosaic and Brampton Grow Green Environmental Master Plan at a neighbourhood scale while helping the community become more environmentally sustainable and resilient to the impacts of climate change. The plan was endorsed by Brampton City Council and CVC Board of Directors in 2019.
