Experience the Sweetness of Maple Season With Two Unique Events at Terra Cotta Conservation Area

Reconnect with nature and celebrate a Canadian tradition at two one-of-a-kind maple syrup events hosted by Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) at Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills. These specialty events offer visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in rich history and the sweet taste of maple syrup during production season. Events take place from March 29 to April 12 and include a daytime, hands-on workshop or an evening of maple-themed food and entertainment.

Sap to Syrup: A Maple Syrup Making Experience

This event is perfect for those looking to get up close and personal with the syrup making process. Participants will immerse themselves in a unique, hands-on experience as they discover the art of maple syrup production, from tree tapping to final syrup production.

During this intimate guided tour and workshop, participants will:

  • Discover how to identify and tap sugar maple trees
  • Collect sap and use an evaporator to make maple syrup
  • Learn how to measure sugar content and grade the syrup
  • Sample maple syrup before preparing a bottle of maple syrup to take home.

Each workshop offers an exclusive and personalized experience as space is limited to 10 tickets per tour. Visitors must be aged 16 years and older to attend. 

Lamplight: Maple Syrup After Dark

This event takes place in the sugarbush after dark, offering visitors a magical evening that blends history, live music and maple-themed food and drink. The event starts with an educational wagon ride through the forest to the illuminated sugarbush, where you’ll discover the rich history of maple syrup production in Canada. The event also includes:

  •  Maple taffy
  • A tasting menu featuring maple-themed food
  • A cocktail or mocktail in a signature souvenir glass
  • Live music by Rag Maple Music as visitors relax by a campfire

This event offers an intimate evening of entertainment as space is limited to 20 tickets per session. Visitors must aged 19 years or older to attend.

For more information about these events and to get tickets, visit cvc.ca/MapleSeason. Each event varies by date and time. Visitors can also purchase locally made maple syrup and maple products from the Park Store before or after your experience. Registration is required for these events.
