Summer Camp Field Trips

Discover Nature with Us

Are you a day camp provider looking for programs to get your campers active and outdoors? Credit Valley Conservation is offering exciting field trip opportunities for summer camps.

Full or half-day nature-based programs take place at the beautiful Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills. The park is only a 30-minute bus ride from Orangeville and Brampton, and a 15-minute bus ride from Georgetown.

Field trips run during July and August and are intended for children ages 5 to 12 years old. Programs are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

Programs Offered

If attending one of our half-day programs, booking leaders will select one of the programs listed below. If participating in our full-day program, both programs will be offered, one during the morning session and one in the afternoon session.

Eat, Breathe, Grow

Calling all scientists, can you figure out what makes something alive? How do we tell the difference between living and non-living things? Come and explore the forest with hands-on activities to learn what local plants and wildlife need to eat, different ways they breathe, and what helps them grow.

Trailblazers

Come explore the forest on foot or by snowshoe! Learn how to prepare for a hike, the benefits of spending time outside for physical and mental health, and gain knowledge of plants and wildlife in the watershed along the way. As you get your heart rate going, you’ll discover why hiking is not only perfect for viewing wildlife – it’s also a great workout!

In winter, the Trailblazers program can be offered as snowshoeing, if trail conditions allow. Wooden snowshoes available at no additional charge.
