Help Manage Stormwater - Beautifully
Join St. Hilary’s and CVC’s Greening Corporate Grounds team as we plant native shrubs and wildflowers for St. Hilary's new rain garden.
What is a rain garden?
Rain gardens are planted depressions created in the landscape to hold and slowly drain rainwater. They can help reduce flooding by lessening pressure on public stormwater infrastructure and our rivers and streams during heavy rainfall events.
About St Hilary’s Rain Garden Project
The rain garden at St Hilary's Church is generously funded by the City of Mississauga. It will showcase sustainable flood and stormwater management in the new Cooksville SNAP neighbourhood and will help address the City’s emergency preparedness objectives.
Event Notes
- Registration is appreciated for this event
- For your own safety, please dress for the weather and the conditions - wear long pants, socks, and closed-toed shoes
- Tuck your pants into your socks, and shirt into your pants for protection against insects
- Bring sunscreen, bug spray and a hat
- Bring your own reusable water bottle
- Please stay at home if you are feeling sick
- Volunteers under 18 please bring a signed copy of our event waiver
- Volunteers over 18 please read and acknowledge the event waiver (registering for the event is considered acknowledgement that you have read and agreed to the event waiver)
