National Forest Week: Chris Gibson Park Tree Planting

September 27, 2025 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Support Local Biodiversity, One Tree at a Time

Join us as we plant native trees and shrubs in Chris Gibson Park to celebrate National Forest Week 2025. Trees help fight climate change by storing carbon dioxide and providing natural cooling on hot summer days. They also create habitat for local wildlife and add beauty to your community.

Help us make the Fletchers Creek SNAP neighbourhood more sustainable and ready for a changing climate. This event is part of Fletchers Creek Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP).

Meet us next to the Chris Gibson Park soccer field (North parking lot). Parking is available.

  • For your own safety, wear a hat, long pants, long socks (to tuck your pants into) and closed-toed shoes.
  • This is a rain-or-shine event. Please dress for the weather.
  • Your own reusable water bottle (we have water to refill from).
  • Sunscreen and bug spray.

This event is subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather. To stay current on event changes or cancellations, be sure to register to this event. We will make efforts to contact registrants via email if the status of this event changes or is cancelled.
