Glen Williams Community Invasive Species Removal – CANCELLED

Help Remove Invasive Plant Species
Join us to help control the spread of invasive plant species at Glen Williams Park. Participants will be removing European buckthorn, an invasive shrub that is impacting the survival of native plants and animals. We will use tools like shovels and extractigators, as well as our hands, to remove small and medium sized shrubs.
Location:
Meet us at Glen Williams Park in Georgetown. Parking is available onsite.
What to Wear and Bring:
- For your own safety, wear a hat, long pants, long socks (to tuck your pants into) and closed-toed shoes.
- This is a rain-or-shine event. Please dress for the weather.
- Your own reusable water bottle (we have water to refill from).
- Sunscreen and bug spray.
Additional Information:
- Please arrive on time.
- Registration is recommended. Register for this event by October 17 at noon.
- Volunteers under 18 please bring a signed copy of our waiver, or bring your parent/guardian to sign you in at the event.
- Volunteers over 18 please read the event waiver. You will sign this at the event.
- Participants collecting volunteer hours please notify staff at the event.
