Fred Kline Park Wildflower Planting and Invasive Species Removal

September 13, 2025 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Help Beautify Fred Kline Park

Join us at Fred Kline Park to help protect native wildlife by removing invasive plants and planting wildflowers! Volunteers will remove invasive species that threaten local plants and animals, then plant native wildflowers to create habitat for pollinators like butterflies, bees, and birds. These actions help restore habitat for our native wildlife to survive and allow a more diverse ecosystem to thrive. We will use tools like shovels, hand trowels, and extractigators to remove small and medium-sized invasive shrubs like European buckthorn/honeysuckle.

Help us make the Fletchers Creek SNAP neighbourhood more sustainable and ready for a changing climate. This event is part of Fletchers Creek Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP).

This event is made possible by the kind support of the Invasive Species Centre and supporting funder, the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Meet us at Fred Kline Park. Parking is available.
