Connect with nature and explore 820 acres of lake, wetland and forests, located at the headwaters of the Credit River in Orangeville.
Experience everything nature has to offer. Cast a line, paddle on the lake, walk the trails, or picnic by the forest. In the colder weather, safely explore a frozen lake with a fishing rod, skates or snowshoes.
Enjoy the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail, the park’s signature eight-kilometre trail, that leads you around the perimeter of the lake.

This trail circles Island Lake and links to local trails in Orangeville and Mono. It’s name after CVC’s retired General Manager, Vicki Barron. Resting spots highlighting scenic vistas, lake spanning bridges and provide opportunities for wildlife viewing. Motorized vehicles are not permitted. Trail surface is crushed stone and decking. Rest areas are less than
800 m apart.

This Town of Mono trail provides access to Island Lake from the Hockley Road parking lot. You can connect to the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail at the western edge of the North Dam. Trail surface is crushed stone and decking. Rest areas are less than 500 m apart.

This Town of Mono trail intersects with the Island Lake Family Trail near the Hockley Road parking lot. Walk through the forest before you connect to the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail at the eastern edge of the North Dam. Trail surface is crushed stone and decking. No rest areas on this trail.

Wander through the long-standing maple-beech forest, where maple syrup is still made today. Enjoy the cool breeze under the shade of the tree canopy. This trail is not maintained in the winter. Trail surface is crushed stone, soil and wood chips. Rest areas are less than 750 m apart.

This trail features memorial trees and gardens dedicated to loved ones through the Dods & McNair Memorial Program. You’ll also come across an experimental nut plantation, see the Kerry Landman Memorial Tree and pass by a beautiful stone wall built by Eric Landman as a tribute to his wife. Trail surface is crushed stone, soil and mowed vegetation. Rest areas are less than 500 m apart.
