Park Closed for the Season
- The park is closed for the season and will re-open May 2025. No entry is permitted.
Open during operating hours
Trail Status
- While construction of the linear works for the Erin Wastewater System Project and restoration is ongoing, the trail will be closed to the public. Sections of the trail are now closed for approximately 22 months lasting until June 2025. The CVC-owned portion of the ECT between 6th Line and Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh and the portion between 10th Line, Erin Village to Cataract Road, Town of Caledon will remain open during construction. For more information on project timelines and construction updates, visit the Town of Erin’s Wastewater System Project webpage at erinwastewater.ca.

Ice Conditions
- Ice thickness is 7 inches.
- Ice surface conditions are snow covered.
- The wetland bays close to the bridges and dams are not open, as well as any areas around and to the east of Bob’s Bridges. All areas will be signed on the lake.
- Access to lake ice will only be permitted from two areas; by parking lot P1 and at the amphitheatre near parking lot P3.
- There is an area in front of parking lot P1 reserved for skating when open; no fishing is permitted in this area.
Activities
- Ice fishing is now open. Ice huts are available.
- Snowshoeing is now available.
- Skating is open on 2 of 3 rinks. The curling rink by the trees is still currently closed. Conditions are poor.
- 2025 picnic bookings will be open on February 1, 2025 at cvc.ca/picnics or by speaking to a staff member. Bookings are available between May 3rd and October 26th, 2025.
Sales and Rentals
- Ice hole auguring is available at the rental shop.
- Emerald shiners are available for purchase at the rental shop. Minnows from outside the conservation area are not permitted.
- Ice fishing rod rentals are available online here.
- Heated ice hut rentals are available online here.
- Snowshoe rentals are available. Online reservations can be made here.
Trail Status
- Trails conditions are packed snow with icy spots and a dusting of fresh snow on top. Proper footwear and crampons are recommended.
Tales on the Trail
- ‘Bear for Breakfast’ by Robert Munsch is currently on display.
Special Events
- Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby: February 8 – 17, 2025.
- Adults: $35, Youth $10.
- $2500 in cash prizes.
- Island Lake Bass Fishing Derby: July 12 – 13, 2025.

Open during operating hours
Park Status
- Please consider visiting on weekdays or early mornings/late afternoons on weekends and holidays.
- Please stay off the arch at the mill ruins; the infrastructure is not suitable or safe for people to stand on.
Trail Closure
- The seasonal trail closure at Limehouse Conservation Area is in effect. The section of Bruce Trail between the parking lot link trail and the hole in the wall will be closed due to unsafe winter conditions. It will remain closed for the winter season. See map here.

Trail Status
- Region of Peel construction work on the new pump station at the Silver Birch entrance is currently underway. The trail access from Silver Birch (Station 15 on the map) is closed to the public. Please use an alternate access to the conservation area. For inquiries about this project, please contact the Region of Peel at [email protected].

Facilities
- Park Store: Open weekends 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday evenings 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Trail Status
- Trail conditions: Trails are groomed but unable to track set at this time. Trails are snowy and icy.
- Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are available.
- Trail Hazards:
- MacGregor Spring Trail: Between station 5 and 13, there is a barren spot closer to station 5 on the hill. Please use caution on the trail. It is advised for cross-country skiers to remove their ski’s for this portion of the trail. Walk the portion of the hill and then at the top, return to skiing the rest of the trail.
- Forest Meadow Loop: The trail is closed to cross-country skiing at this time due to wet and barren spots. Trail is open to hikers and snowshoers.

- Kicksledding is available.
- The ice rink on Wolf Lake is available for skating. No reservation required. Skating ends at 5:30 p.m. daily. Conditions are moderately good.
- The skating rink in the Wetland Pavilion is now available. Reservations may be made online or over the phone. Walk-in rental for Wetland Pavilion ice rink is permitted based on conditions and availability. Conditions are good.

Special Events
- Ignite the Night
- Explore winter trail light displays every Saturday night from January 4 – March 1, 2025.
- 6:30 p.m. – to 9:00 p.m.
- Regular admission applies.
- Ski and snowshoe rentals are available.
- Cross country skiers remain on TC Lane during Ignite the Night.
- No admittance is available after 8:00 p.m. as the experience takes a minimum of an hour to enjoy.
