  • This park is closed and scheduled to reopen April 27, 2024. Reservations are now available. No access is permitted at this time.
  • Advanced reservations are available at Belfountain Conservation Area, allowing you to choose the best time to visit before you head to the park. A reservation holds your space at these popular and busy parks.
  • You may book a reservation for up to two weeks in advance online. You will be required to login or create your Credit Valley Parks account to complete the booking.
  • Same day reservations are not available. First come first served parking and admission is available at the park every day when capacity allows, once it opens. Check back here for updated capacity.

Trail Status

  • While construction of the linear works for the Erin Wastewater System Project and restoration is ongoing, the trail will be closed to the public. Sections of the trail are now closed for approximately 22 months lasting until June 2025. The CVC-owned portion of the ECT between 6th Line and Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh and the portion between 10th Line, Erin Village to Cataract Road, Town of Caledon will remain open during construction. For more information on project timelines and construction updates, visit the Town of Erin’s Wastewater System Project webpage at erinwastewater.ca.
  • Upgrades to existing Town of Erin stormwater infrastructure on the Elora Cataract Trailway will be underway shortly. Sections of the trail between the western limit of the Erin Glen Subdivision and 10th Line will be closed for approximately 5 months from April 22nd to September 20, 2024. In addition, the parking lot located at 235 Daniel Street, Erin will be closed to vehicular parking during this time. The portion of the ECT between Main Street and Erin District Highschool, and the trailway East of 10th Line will remain open during construction. Parking

  • Parking Lot P2 is closed temporarily due to wet conditions.

Lake Conditions

  • Breezy; use caution on the lake. Personal watercraft only. Yellow flag.

Facilities

  • The boat launch is open for the season.
  • The watercraft storage area is open for the season.
  • The park store is open from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Saturdays and Sundays.

Activities

  • Personal watercraft are permitted on the lake.
  • Watercraft rentals are anticipated to begin April 26th as water temperatures allow.
  • Shoreline fishing is available.
  • Hiking is available.

Sales and Rentals

  • Worms are available for purchase. Worms from outside the Conservation Area are not permitted.
  • Minnows are available for purchase. Minnows from outside the Conservation Area are not permitted.
  • Fat Tire Bike rentals are available.
  • Watercraft rentals are not available at this time. Please check back weekly for updates.
  • 2024 picnic reservations are now available to book. Available dates range from May 4 – October 27. Reservations can be made here

Special Events

  • Seniors Day at Island Lake CA is happening on June 5 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

  • The 14th Annual Island Lake Bass Derby is happening on July 13 and 14 from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

  • The Home Hardware parking lot is closed indefinitely for trail users. Vehicles will be towed.

  • Region of Peel construction work on the new pump station at the Silver Birch entrance is currently underway. The trail access from Silver Birch is closed to the public. Park Hours Change

  • Terra Cotta Conservation Area is now open from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM daily.

Sales and Rentals

  • Please note that admission tickets are available online or over the phone only from Monday to Friday. Please purchase your tickets in advance here or call us at 1-800-367-0890 to make your purchase. Admission tickets will be available in-person on Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays. Credit Valley Parks passholders are not required to purchase a ticket.

Trail Closure from January 5th to May 1st, 2024

Bruce Trail Users

Access to the Bruce Trail is closed at the west entry at 10th Line of Terra Cotta Conservation Area where the main trail meets the Terra Cotta Side Trail to the East and the Credit Valley Footpath to the West. There are no reroutes for this section of the trail, you will need to turn back. Terra Cotta Conservation Area will not be accessible at the 10th Line entrance. The closure is expected to take place from January 5th to May 1st, 2024 to accommodate the construction of a new bridge at this site.

Terra Cotta CA Visitors

The Graydon Trail between stations 20 and 21 is closed from January 5th to May 1st, 2024 to accommodate the construction of a new bridge at this site. There are no reroutes for this section of the trail, you will need to turn back. Terra Cotta Conservation Area will not be accessible at the 10th Line entrance.
