May 29, 2020 – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is hosting a free webinar for rural landowners to learn how septic systems work, what steps they can take to keep them healthy and how to identify and troubleshoot problems. Septic Social Online will be held Tuesday, June 16 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Join CVC’s Karen Buckle and local septic system expert Katherine Rentsch for a short presentation. Then have your questions answered live.
“Myths around proper septic care spread from the mystery around how these systems work,” said Karen Buckle, Rural Landowner Outreach Coordinator at CVC. “We’ll debunk the myths and provide landowners with the right information to keep their systems healthy.”
CVC’s Septic Social webinar will provide important information on proper septic system maintenance. Poorly functioning septic systems can compromise water quality, human health and local ecosystems. They can cause sewage back up in basements with associated health risks, impact insurance costs and lead to costly repairs. Contaminated well water can impact landowners but also neighbours who draw from the same water source for their well.
Register online at cvc.ca/events or call 905-670-1615 ext. 221. This workshop is designed for rural residents in the Credit River Watershed. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed. Our watershed is defined by the area of land where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drain into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. We inspire a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
