Join Credit Valley Conservation at the Septic Social Workshop

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites rural landowners to attend the Septic Social Workshop on October 5, 2024, from 9 to 11 a.m. at a local property in Alton.

“A failing septic system is costly, inconvenient and poses dangers to your drinking water,” said Lisa Brusse, Manager, Landowner Engagement and Stewardship, Credit Valley Conservation. “Rural landowners are encouraged to attend our workshop to learn how to prevent septic system problems and protect groundwater quality.”

Workshop attendees will get to see the process of a live septic pump out and learn:

  • How septic systems work
  • The health risks of wastewater
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Funding opportunities

CVC’s stewardship coordinator, Karen Buckle, and wastewater expert, Katerine Rentsch will be onsite to answer your questions.

Registration is required by October 3 at cvc.ca/RuralEvents. The event will take place rain or shine.

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed. Our watershed is defined by the area of land where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drains into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. We inspire a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario. In 2024, CVC celebrates 70-years of conservation.
