Conservation Gala Celebrates 15 Years of Giving Back to Nature

Credit Valley Conservation Foundation (CVCF) will host its 15th anniversary Conservation Gala on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Mississauga Convention Centre. The gala is presented by Lakeview Community Partners and will be hosted by media personality, Anwar Knight.

“We’re excited to bring people together at our 15th anniversary Conservation Gala,” said Jon MacMull, Acting Executive Director of CVCF. “This is a special event where friends, partners and environmentally-minded individuals come together to support and celebrate the conservation successes across the Credit River Watershed.”

This year’s Conservation Gala will feature a three-course dinner with silent and live auctions. Guests will be entertained by live birds of prey, a live jazz band, raffle draws and games. Fully vaccinated guests are welcome and proof of vaccination will be required onsite. A reduced event capacity will be in effect with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Funds raised at the gala will go to the area of greatest need. Proceeds will support the Credit Valley Trail, a continuous 100-kilometre pathway through the Credit River Valley – from the headwaters in Orangeville to Lake Ontario in Port Credit. The trail will connect people to the beauty of nature, rich cultural experiences, Indigenous heritage and values, and to the sustaining waters of the Credit River.

“The pandemic has shown that access to natural spaces, like parks and trails, is critical for maintaining health and wellness,” continued MacMull. “We’re committed to supporting the development of the Credit Valley Trail. This project puts nature at the heart of our communities, and it will be a protected, natural legacy for future generations.”

Since 2006, the Conservation Gala has raised over $2.2 million in support of Credit Valley Conservation projects and initiatives that enhance the local environment for present and future generations. Each year corporate leaders, individual donors and municipal representatives attend the gala.

A limited number of tickets and sponsorships are still available for the Conservation Gala. For information, visit https://conservationgala.ca.
