When the winter weather arrives, grab a pair of snowshoes and find new places to explore at Credit Valley Parks. There are many trails to choose from as you test your skills using one of the oldest modes of transportation.
Our Snowshoeing Spots
Island Lake trails are ideal for a day of snowshoeing. Travel over flat terrain and gentle inclines as you trek through hardwood bush and meadow areas. Once the lake has frozen over, enjoy exploring this area too!
Trails at Terra Cotta are varied and take you through hardwood bushes and rolling hills. Surround yourself with the sounds of nature as you explore the park. Watch for new one-way trails as you plan your route.
The varying terrain of the Bruce Trail takes you up steep inclines through the Niagara Escarpments rocky outcrops and mature hardwood forests. The trails are not maintained and are designated for multiple uses.

The flat terrain of the trailway makes it ideal for snowshoeing after a fresh snowfall. This linear trail is designated for multiple uses (not groomed) so conditions are usually snow packed.
