Island Lake Rentals: Watercraft

 

 

Canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville from mid April to the end of October annually, Electric motor boats rentals are cancelled for the 2021 season due to low water.  All equipment must be used within the Conservation Area.

Use of rental watercraft is dependent on weather conditions so please check the Park Advisories before you arrive.

Staff will demonstrate proper use of watercraft and accompanying safety equipment upon rental. All boats must be returned 1 hour before closing.

Reservations 

Equipment Rentals

Canoes

Canoes are available for walk in use, with a limited number of reservations available for daily rentals only. All rentals come with:

  • lifejackets for each person,  bringing your own is recommended
  • boat safety kit
  • paddles
  • one – 16 foot Old Town canoes, 3 person capacity

Rental Fees:

  • $20 plus HST per hour*
  • $50 plus HST per day*

* A $200 deposit per watercraft is required at the time of rental. The deposit is refundable pending return of all equipment in good condition. 

Kayaks

Kayaks are available for walk in use, with a limited number of reservations available for daily rentals only.

Choose from:

  • Sit-on kayaks – 1 person capacity
  • Sit-in kayaks – 1 person capacity
  • Tandem sit-in kayak -2 person capacity

All rentals come with:

  • lifejackets for each person,  bringing your own is recommended
  • boat safety kit
  • paddles

Rental Fees:

  • $20 plus HST per hour*
  • $50 plus HST per day*

Stand Up Paddleboards

Stand Up Paddleboards are available for walk in use, with a limited number of reservations available for daily rentals only. All rentals come with:

  • one lifejacket,  bringing your own is recommended
  • boat safety kit
  • paddle
  • one – 10.6 ft Future Beach paddleboard

Rental Fees:

* A $200 deposit per watercraft is required at the time of rental. The deposit is refundable pending return of all equipment in good condition. 

Other Services

OFAH Tackleshare program: Fishing rods are available to any visitor to use free of charge at the rental building. Rods are available on a first-come, first-served basis until stock is depleted and a $20 refundable deposit is required.

Fishing rod rentals are available when tackleshare rods are depleted for $10/ rod ($20 deposit required).

A valid Ontario fishing licence is required for anyone between the ages of 18-64. More information is available at www.ontario.ca/fishing.
