Ignite Your Love of Nature After Dark at Terra Cotta

The forest at Terra Cotta Conservation Area is a special place to visit in the winter, but have you experienced it after dark? The starry sky, the nighttime sounds and the crisp air offer a unique connection with nature. On Saturdays, from January 6 to February 24, visitors can take part in our Ignite the Night event series and explore the magical winter forest.

Explore the Brightly Lit Trail

Bring your family and friends and explore a two-kilometre brightly lit winter trail. Ignite the Night lights up different parts of the Terra Cotta forest and interpretive signage guides visitors along the path. This is a self-guided experience to help you connect with nature and learn about trees in a new way.

Visitors are Welcome to Bring Equipment

Ski, snowshoe and kick sled rentals and one hour ice skating rink reservations are available onsite, as conditions permit. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own equipment. We recommend bringing a headlamp or flashlight with you.
