When paying at the parks, online pre-payment or electronic payment is preferred to reduce touch points. Cash should only be used when there is no other option.

  • Closed throughout 2021. No entry.

Visitors welcome at Park

The park has capacity and visitors are welcome by reservation only. 

 

  • OPEN from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm, reservations required. The last reservation is for 7:20 p.m. Reservations can be made here.

COVID – 19

  • Outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people are now permitted.
  • Limited trail access available, including one-way trails, while maintaining physical distancing and adhering to strict visitor safety guidelines.

Island Lake CA Park Status

Visitors welcome at Park

The park has capacity and visitors are welcome.

 

 

  • OPEN 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays and 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays.

Sales and Rentals

  • Maple Products are available online for curbside pick up.
  • Tackleshare program fishing rods are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Electric motor boats are not available for 2021 due to low water levels.
  • Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are available on a first-come-first-serve basis as well as limited reservations.
  • We recommend bringing your own lifejacket if possible.

Activities

  • Lake use is open for paddle-craft rentals and personal watercrafts. No gas-powered motors are permitted.
  • Picnic tables available.  Tables are not disinfected between use. Picnic reservations are available online here.
  • Northern pike, largemouth bass, panfish seasons are open.

Lake Conditions 

  • High winds, personal watercraft only. Red Flag. 
  • Low water levels and high aquatic vegetation are present and may affect fishing. More information can be found here.

Lakeside Trail at Island Lake
  • OPEN from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays and 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays. 
  • Parking lots are busy on the weekend, please choose another time or have a back-up option to visit as roadside parking is not recommended.

Special Notice

  • Pedestrian access only at 4thAvenue in Orangeville
  • Home Hardware parking lot closed indefinitely for trail users. Vehicles will be towed.

  • Please consider visiting on weekdays as weekends are extremely busy. Have a back up plan if parking is full. Do not park in dangerous locations. Terra Cotta Conservation Area is close by with more parking.
