CONDITIONS AT A GLANCE

Island Lake Conservation Area Ice access including  fishing and skating is closed due to unsafe shoreline conditions, updates will be posted Friday afternoon. Hut rentals closed for the season. Trail use is open from 8am-6pm daily.
       ~  Lakeside Trail  The trail between 4th Avenue and the front gates is closed for construction Monday to Friday but open on the weekends. The rest of the trail is open, however there are sheets of ice and muddy spots. Proceed with caution.
Terra Cotta Conservation Area Park is open 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Skating, skiing and snowshoeing CLOSED.
Belfountain Conservation Area Closed until Spring 2018.
Ken Whillans Conservation Area Closed until Spring 2018.

Island Lake Conservation Area

We are open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ice access is currently closed due to unsafe shorelines. Updates will be posted here Friday afternoon. Heated ice hut rentals closed for the season. Trail remains open and  access parking areas are listed here: www.creditvalleyca.ca/VBLT. Please note that the portion of the trail between 4th Avenue and the front gates is closed for construction. At this time you will have to retrace your steps back to the entrance you came in on.

Terra Cotta Conservation Area

We are open daily from 8:00 am to 6:00pm. Weekday admission is payable at the self-serve station or display a valid membership on your dashboard. Skiing, snowshoeing and skating are closed and trails are icy and muddy in spots. Proceed with caution.

Long-Term Trail Closures: As of Thursday, January 25th, sections of Terra Cotta Lane and McGregor Spring Pond trail will be closed in preparation for some long term trail improvements.  Please check posted maps at the gatehouse and Visitors Welcome Centre for daily updates.

Belfountain Conservation Area

Belfountain Conservation Area is closed until Spring 2018.

PLEASE NOTE: A new picnic policy  at Belfountain Conservation Area is in effect. Day camping is no longer permitted and all 10 picnic tables now have a 30 minute maximum to ensure that all visitors have access to resting areas if needed. When planning your 2018 outings visit Island Lake CA or Terra Cotta CA if you are interested in picnicking for periods longer than 30 minutes.

 Ken Whillans Resource Management Area

Ken Whillans RMA is closed until Spring 2018.

This time if year it is common for trail or park closures due to high winds or severe or unsafe weather. If trail system are marked as closed, please respect and obey all posted signs. For park updates and closures due to weather and trail conditions, CVC’s corporate website at www.cvc.ca will display a red headline box at the top of all pages.
