Mississauga Stormwater Charge & Credit

Multi-residential buildings and non-residential properties, including institutional, commercial and industrial lands, make up 70 per cent of the hard surfaces in the City of Mississauga. Since 2016, a stormwater charge has been applied to Region of Peel water bills to support the City’s Stormwater Management Program.

The Stormwater Credit Program provides multi-residential and non-residential property owners or tenants the opportunity to reduce their stormwater charge for implementing and maintaining stormwater management practices.

Sustainable landscaping practices can help you reduce your charge by slowing your property’s peak stormwater flows, decreasing run-off volumes, preventing pollution and improving water quality.

Businesses located within Mississauga and the Credit River Watershed are eligible for free enrollment in Greening Corporate Grounds. Contact Senior Coordinator Deborah Kenley for more information at Deborah.Kenley@cvc.ca or 905-670-1615 ext 439.
