Grassland Restoration at Upper Credit Conservation Area
CVC is naturalizing an old field at Upper Credit Conservation Area. The former farm field is overgrown with non-native and invasive plants. It will be transformed into a thriving grassland with native plants and grasses to support the recovery of at-risk grassland birds. This is a pilot project and if successful, the approach will be used in other locations within the Credit River watershed. There are several stages involved to complete the restoration. Follow the transformation in our photo journal beginning with an old field to thriving native grassland.
