Walk-ins Welcome at Island Lake: Park Responsibly
Wednesday, May 15, 2019 by Credit Valley Conservation
Island Lake Conservation Area is now operating under summer hours. Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) wants to remind park visitors to be good neighbours and park responsibly when accessing the park through active transportation.
While designated trail parking is available at the Home Hardware parking lot, located at 60 4th Avenue in Orangeville, we remind members of the public to park in the 12 identified trail parking spaces only.
CVC and Home Hardware have partnered to offer these spaces for the public as part of CVC’s active transportation program. This program allows members of the public arriving on foot, bike or other active means to access the park at no charge.
CVC and the Home Hardware would like to remind the public that anyone parking in undesignated parking spaces (the regular lot) at Home Hardware will be towed at their own expense.
Visitors can receive unlimited access to the main parking lot at Island Lake Conservation Area during hours of operation through CVC’s membership program. For more information about memberships, visit cvcparks.ca.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed. That watershed is the area of land defined by where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drains into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. It inspires a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
