Terra Cotta Conservation Area to host family-friendly Fall Festival
Tuesday, October 3, 2017 by Credit Valley Conservation
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is celebrating Canada 150 with a special Fall Festival at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, complete with live music, a beer garden, kids’ activities and food trucks.
Located in Halton Hills just one hour from Toronto, Terra Cotta’s Fall Festival is a celebration of local food, drink and entertainment.
The festival takes place rain or shine every Saturday in October (7, 14, 21 and 28) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and features a full lineup of family-friendly fun. Highlights include a weekly marketplace with more than a dozen local vendors. There are wagon rides, pumpkin painting, a bouncy castle, face painting, photo booth, and a hay bale play area. There is also a chance to sample craft beers at a beer garden while enjoying live music by local musicians and artists.
In collaboration with J.B. Innovative Solutions Inc. (JBISI), parent company to Food Truck’N Friday, Toronto’s premier ongoing food truck event, Terra Cotta’s Fall Festival also includes a selection of southern Ontario’s top food trucks. Each week features a different food truck lineup. From gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and authentic Indian cuisine to Venezuelan arepas and wood burning pizzas, curbside menus at Terra Cotta’s Fall Festival are as vast as they are varied.
“This year’s festival at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, in the heart of the Niagara Escarpment, offers a different mix of vendors, activities and food trucks each week,” said Shawn Verge, Manager, Conservation Parks at CVC. “Come out and visit the park, take in the beautiful colours and enjoy a truly Canadian, local fall experience.”
The Terra Cotta Fall Festival is funded in part by the Ontario150 Community Celebration Program, supporting initiatives that commemorate the 150th anniversary of both Canada and Ontario.
“We are so excited to be participating in this great event, one that not only supports Ontario’s growing food truck community, but also celebrates this beautiful province and country we live in,” said Jason Bellissimo, founder of Food Truck’N Friday. “Having food trucks parked curbside will be a perfect complement to all the family-friendly activities available on site. It’s going to be an amazing month of good fun and good eats!”
Terra Cotta Conservation Area is located at 14452 Winston Churchill Blvd., Halton Hills. Tickets for Terra Cotta’s Fall Festival are priced at $8/adult, $5/child (ages 6-14), and $5/senior (60 and over). Kids five and under are free. Members are also free.
