Community-based environmental groups are invited to participate in the fifth Sharing Experiences Workshop, held on March 5 at Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle. This workshop is organized by local conservation authorities and environmental organizations, and features a keynote address by Gord Miller, former Environmental Commissioner of Ontario.

Sharing Experiences is a free one-day workshop which gives community-based environmental groups the opportunity to learn from each other. The workshop will include presentations, an opportunity to network and share ideas.

Workshop organizers seek input from groups or individuals interested in presenting. The organizing committee is working to ensure different topics are selected from year to year. Previous topics include:

  • marketing and communications
  • engaging youth
  • habitat rehabilitation
  • volunteer management
  • partnerships
  • grants and funding
  • working with local government

Interested groups or individuals are asked to submit topic ideas by Monday, January 11, 2016. Submissions should be forwarded to Jeff Stock at 905-525-2181, ext. 181, or jstock@conservationhamilton.ca. For more information, visit http://conservationhamilton.ca/sharing-experiences-workshops-2/.
