Learn how to Enhance your Land and Water with CVC

Wednesday, October 9, 2019 by Credit Valley Conservation

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites landowners to attend Caring for Your Land and Water, a workshop for rural property owners on Saturday October 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Warwick Conservation Centre, Caledon. Participants will build a plan for their property using landscape maps and CVC’s Handbook for Countryside Living.

“This workshop is great for landowners who want to learn more about their properties. There are funding programs and other services available for land and water projects that many landowners don’t know about,” said Lisa Brusse, Manager of Landowner Outreach at Credit Valley Conservation.

Attendees will discover how to bring the best of nature to their properties and ways to enhance their land and protect their water.

Topics include:

  • Protecting your well and septic system
  • Enhancing your property with native plants and trees
  • Attracting wildlife and building habitat for birds and pollinators
  • Applying for funding programs and other funding services for rural landowners

Register by October 15 at cvc.ca/events or 1-800-668-5557 ext. 440. Preference is given to landowners owning one acre or more of rural property in the Credit River Watershed.

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed. Our watershed is defined by the area of land where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drains into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. We inspire a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
