Last Phase of Construction Underway at Island Lake Conservation Area

April 30, 2015 –The last phase of construction on the Vicki Baron Lakeside Trail is currently underway at Island Lake Conservation Area. During the construction period, Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is asking area residents and visitors to stay off the west link of the trail until it is complete.
At this time the trail remains closed to ensure public safety. Visitors are reminded to stay off the trail and to obey all posted signage. CVC has identified the west link as a construction zone where workers require full access to the location without the worry of foot traffic.
“We know visitors of the park are eager to use the west link of the lakeside trail,” said Bill Lidster, Operations Manager for the north zone at CVC. “At this time we are asking the public to stay off the trail for their own safety. This is an active construction zone and trail conditions are not monitored for public use at this time.”
CVC expects construction on the final 10-kilometre trail link to be complete this summer. CVC will publicly announce completion as soon as it is safe for public use. For more information, contact Island Lake Conservation Area at 1-800-367-0890 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
