Join CVC’s Tree Planting Program Information Session

July 5, 2021 – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites rural landowners in the Credit River Watershed to an online information session about its private property tree planting programs on Monday, July 21 from 12 – 1 p.m. Landowners will learn how easy and cost-effective it can be to plant trees on their properties with CVC.
“Private landowners are helping us reach 30 per cent forest cover in our communities, the threshold for healthy watersheds, by planting trees on their properties,” says Aaron Day, Program Manager, Forestry. “We make it easy for landowners by doing the work and subsidizing the cost.”
Landowners with properties of two acres or more are eligible for funding to offset up to 100 per cent of the costs of tree planting on their properties. Funding covers planting plans, labour, and tree stock. Landowners work with CVC’s forestry specialists to develop planting plans to suit the needs and conditions of their properties.
Trees provide many benefits to landowners and the environment. They add natural beauty, clean the air and water, and support local animals, like birds and beneficial insects.
During the online event, participants will also have a chance to ask CVC’s forestry experts their questions. Register at cvc.ca/events or call 905-670-1615 ext. 221.
Landowners unable to attend the event can connect with CVC’s stewardship coordinators at email@example.com.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed. That watershed is the area of land defined by where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drains into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. It inspires a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
