Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) will host a Caring for Your Land and Water workshop to help landowners care for natural areas on their properties and protect the environment. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, May 2 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Terra Cotta Conservation Area located at 14452 Winston Churchill Blvd., Halton Hills.
The workshop is designed for landowners across the watershed interested in learning more about their rural properties and taking action to enhance nature.
“Landowners are taking advantage of this workshop to make the most of their rural properties,” said Mike Puddister, Deputy CAO and Director of Watershed Transformation at CVC. “It’s great to see property owners restoring natural areas, providing habitat for wildlife and protecting their water sources by caring for septics and wells.”
By attending a Caring for Your Land and Water workshop, participants become eligible to apply for CVC’s Landowner Action Fund. Since 2014, the program has awarded more than $100,000 to landowners for environmental projects on their properties.
Space is limited so register at www.cvc.ca/events. For more information call 1-800-668-5557 ext. 436. Preference will be given to landowners owning one acre or more of rural property in the Credit River Watershed. The next Caring for Your Land and Water workshop will take place on August 15 in Mono.
Workshops are free thanks to funding from CVC’s regional and municipal partners.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River watershed. That watershed is the area of land where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drain into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. It inspires a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
