A low pressure system from the Southern United States will bring moderate amounts of precipitation. Rain will gradually spread across south-Central Ontario on Wednesday. The rain will become heavy at times Wednesday evening for south-Central Ontario. The rain is expected to taper off Thursday morning with lighter rain continuing Thursday. The forecast calls for up to 50 mm of rain when the system exits our region.

The forecasted precipitation may result in some minor flooding of low lying areas along the watercourse in our watershed. As well, heavy downpour may result in flash flooding in highly urbanized areas. Areas adjacent to watercourses, especially near culverts and intake structures, may become dangerous because of the high flows and should be avoided. Please alert any children under your care of these dangers and avoid areas with high flows.

CVC will continue to closely monitor weather and water levels in the watershed. The High Water Bulletin will be in effect through Friday, October 21, 2011 or until further notice.
