August 13, 2019 – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites rural landowners to see their property through the eyes of wildlife at an upcoming workshop. Improve your property’s appeal to pollinators and animals looking for a home. Home Sweet Home – Wildlife on Your Land will be held on Saturday, August 24 from 10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Warwick Conservation Centre in Caledon.
Discover the variety of wildlife habitats you can create on your property. Our experts will show you how to attract pollinators with native plants, how to select the right nesting box for breeding birds and much more.
“Being close to nature is one of the true benefits of living in the countryside. You can see and enjoy more wildlife by creating the right habitats for their needs,” says Alison Qua-Enoo, CVC’s Senior Coordinator of Rural Residential Outreach. “At the workshop, we’ll show you what you can do to make your property more inviting for wildlife.”
The workshop will include a guided walk through CVC’s new Warwick Conservation Centre.
Participants will receive a free native plant booklet.
Space is limited. Registration is required. The event is $10 per person. Visit cvc.ca/events or call 905-670-1615 ext. 221 to reserve your spot.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed. That watershed is the area of land defined by where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drains into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. It inspires a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
