Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) invites landowners to the Future-Proof Your Forest Bus Tour on Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at Terra Cotta Conservation Area (main parking lot), located at 14452 Winston Churchill Blvd., Halton Hills.
“Our climate is changing and our forests are struggling,” said Mike Puddister, Deputy CAO and Director of Watershed Transformation at CVC. “Woodlot owners need to prepare and understand the key issues affecting forest health and long-term survival. The tour gives landowners a chance to visit local woodlots and learn techniques to protect their forests.”
Climate change is already impacting our forests, creating instability and uncertainty about forest health. If they are to thrive into the future, local forests will have to adapt to these new conditions. CVC’s Forestry Specialists have natural solutions to help future-proof local forests.
Register at www.cvc.ca/events by September 19. The tour costs $15. Light snacks will be provided. For more information call 1-800-668-5557 ext. 436.
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is a local conservation authority established by the Ontario government in 1954 to protect, restore and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River watershed. That watershed is the area of land where all rainfall, snowmelt and runoff drain into lands and waters flowing into the Credit River. CVC creates connections between people and nature, knowledge and action. It inspires a deep appreciation for the role of nature in keeping people connected, healthy and happy. CVC is a member of Conservation Ontario.
