Under the Clean Water Act, 2006, a Source Protection Plan must be developed to address significant drinking water threats located in each Source Protection Area (SPA) located in Ontario. The SPA must consult with implementing bodies and the public on the CTC Proposed Source Protection Plan in a two tiered approach.

This second period of public consultation for the CTC Proposed Source Protection Plan extends from September 7th through October 8th, 2012. The CTC Proposed Source Protection Plan along with high resolution versions of the maps where policies may apply and the Explanatory Document can be located here. The Explanatory Document provides the rationale behind the policy development and a summary of how the comments received during the first public consultation, held from March 19 to May 1, 2012, were considered. The CTC Proposed Source Protection Plan will be submitted to the Minister of Environment on October 22, 2012, along with any comments received in the second public consultation for his approval decision.
