Celebrate Your Newest Conservation Area: Family fun includes Sciensational Sssnakes, Birds of Prey, Guided Hikes and Free BBQ

Friday, July 16, 2010 –  Everyone is welcome to join the celebration of the expanded Upper Credit Conservation Area. Credit Valley Conservation is proud to announce the acquisition of a significant property located in the Headwaters of the Credit River in the Town of Caledon. This property is home to important natural features and many plants and animals.

CVC’s partners, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Region of Peel and Ducks Unlimited each contributed generously to the success of this initiative, and have together ensured the protection of this land for future generations.

A grand celebration will take place on Sept. 11, 2010 to say ‘thank you’ and to introduce this new conservation area to the community.


Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.


Family hikes and activities starting at 11 a.m., featuring exciting demonstrations by Sciensational Sssnakes and Birds of Prey.

Media/photo opportunity including federal, provincial and local representatives at 12 p.m., followed by a BBQ lunch

Conservation Authorities are a provincial/ municipal partnership. The CVC was established by an Act of the province in 1954 with a mandate to protect all natural resources other than minerals in the area drained by the Credit River . We have been working for over 50 years with our partner municipalities and stakeholders to protect and enhance the natural environment of the Credit River Watershed for present and future generations.
