Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 –The Hamlet of Belfountain hosts the Annual Salamander Festival on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in partnership with Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), the Belfountain Community Organization and community partners. Activities take place in the hamlet and Belfountain Conservation Area (CA).

At Belfountain CA there will be:

  •  Birds of prey (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) from the Ontario Falconry Centre
  • Free give-aways for your garden, while supplies last
  • Demonstrations by Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club on how to tie a fly
  • Kids Eco Zone Activity Centre
  • River critters
  • Electrofishing demonstrations
  • Belfountain Public School goes green
  • Caledon Hills Bruce Trail Club activity

At the Hamlet of Belfountain there will be:

  • A farmers’ and artisans’ market
  • Silent auction and bake sale
  • Live entertainment, music and dance
  • Squash and pumpkin growing contest
  • Hot breakfast
  • Barbecue lunch with local angus beef, bison and lamb burgers and squash soup
  • Dog agility trials
