Island Lake Conservation Area

Ice huts are now off the ice at Island Lake. People are welcome to take part in open air ice fishing or use your own tents. Ice fishing will continue until March 22nd. The lake will be closed from March 23 until April17.

Trail conditions continue to be icy in various locations. We have put some signs up to warn visitors of certain spots but it is advised to use caution throughout the area, especially near the dam. During our park closure, the Vicki Baron Lakeside Trail will be accessible via its lake access points.

Our own Maple Syrup Festival will take place March 28-29. Costs are $10/adult, $4/child, and free admission to infants and CVC members.

Be on the lookout for some resident mink near the shoreline close to the parking lot! Other wildlife spotted: cardinals, crows, chickadees, squirrels, raccoons.
