Bring Your Group to Terra Cotta

We offer exciting badge programs for Guides (Sparks, Embers, Girl Guides and Pathfinders) and Scouts (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts). Activities meet many environmental badge requirements.

Each program lasts for 1.5 hours. Two programs can be combined for a full day trip, with three hours of programming and a 30 minute lunch break in between.

A half-day program is $230, plus HST for a group of up to 30 Guides or Scouts.

A full-day program is $425, plus HST for a group of up to 30 Guides or Scouts.

Hop like a rabbit. Sneak like a fox. Let’s get our hearts pumping and feet moving on the trails! Learn about local animals and play nature games while hiking in a beautiful forest habitat.

In winter, the Trailblazers program can be offered as snowshoeing, if trail conditions allow. Snowshoes available at no additional charge.”

Do you give a “hoot” about owls? Learn about owl species living in our watershed. Play games, go on a hike and dissect an owl pellet.

Check out the trails and learn all about the elements of design found in nature. Let’s create a piece of art that showcases your favourite thing outdoors. All art supplies are provided. Digital photography, sketching or painting options available.

Explore the watershed in Terra Cotta with the help of technology. Learn to use a GPS unit and participate in a scavenger hunt on the trails.

Are you ready for the weather? Come and learn how to check the weather by testing the wind and temperature using hands-on techniques. What happens when it gets too cold or too warm? Discover the forms that water can take in different weather and find out how animals adapt to the changing seasons.

Let’s flock together and use our bird brains and discover local birds using binoculars. Touch and feel feathers and replica bird skulls. Learn about bird adaptations, biodiversity amongst species and how we can protect and increase birds in our community. By the end of the program you will be thinking like a bird!

Lace up your sneakers and go for gold as you participate in the amazing Animal Olympics. During this interactive and high energy program, participants transform into animal athletes and compete in a variety of challenges showcasing the skills and adaptations of local wildlife. Which animal will take home the Olympic medals?

Can you tell when an animal has been nearby? Are there signs of animals we can look for even if we don’t see them? How do animals survive the changing seasons in Ontario? If you’ve ever wondered about one of these questions than this program is for you! Learn about the different signs animals leave behind, look for animal tracks, and play games that will help you understand what it takes for animals to survive the winter months.
