At this time, we are seeking to fill the position of:Salamander Festival Volunteers

At this time we are seeking to fill four volunteer positions for the Salamander Festival at Belfountain Conservation Area (BCA) and in the Hamlet of Belfountain, ON. Joining CVC at a volunteer event is a great way to get outdoors, have fun and lend your skills and abilities. These volunteer opportunities are ideal for people who would like to work with us on a regular basis, are looking to earn community service hours for High School Diploma requirements, or give back to the community and the environment.

The Belfountain Community Organization and Credit Valley Conservation’s annual Belfountain Salamander Festival. This outdoor event celebrates community and brings awareness to the environmentally sensitive Jefferson Salamander. The event has live music, vendors, delicious food, family fun activities at BCA, mammal and reptile discovery, hot apple cider and squash soup in the Hamlet of Belfountain.

Eligibility Requirements

Volunteers of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome.
For volunteers under 18 please bring a signed copy of our volunteer waiver

Summary of Major Tasks

Volunteers are needed for: 
Belfountain Village Park Booth
Conservation Area Booth

Outreach Focus: To encourage festival visitors to visit BCA and experience the different activities offered by a variety of CVC staff.

Additional Information

Event time: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Volunteer shifts: 9:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. & 12:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Volunteer Positions Located at:
Belfountain Conservation Area  10 Credit Street, Belfountain, ON L7K 0E5
Belfountain Village Church parking lot  7258 Old Main St, Belfountain, ON L7K 0E6.

Parking: Free parking is available in BCA. Please let the gatehouse staff know you are a volunteer as you enter the park. Otherwise, parking is available throughout the village along roads where legally allowed to do so.

Please dress appropriately - terrain may be uneven, and the weather may vary. This is a rain or shine event so please check the weather conditions before you arrive. Sunscreen, a hat and bug spray are recommended. We will provide you with a volunteer badge to help visitors identify you as such.

A reusable water bottle is recommended. Extra water is available on-site, however cups or bottles are not provided.
