Bird-Friendly Certified Hay Monitoring

Wednesday, June 26, 2019

5:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Terra Cotta Conservation Area , Halton Hills (View Map)

Learn about grassland birds and join Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) staff for an early morning walk of hay fields enrolled in our Bird-Friendly Certified Hay Program.

The Bird-Friendly Certified Hay Program helps improve habitat and living conditions for Bobolink and Eastern Meadowlark nesting in hay fields across the Credit River Watershed. Each year, CVC staff monitor hay fields enrolled in the program to understand the valuable habitat these fields can provide when grown bird-friendly.

Join CVC staff to learn more about Bobolink and Eastern Meadowlark habitat, identification and help us spot grassland birds in the field!

Participants are required to attend a mandatory training session on June 18th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Terra Cotta Conservation Area Watershed Learning Center. All skill levels are welcome to attend.

For volunteers under 18 please bring a signed copy of ourĀ volunteer waiver
