Reel in a big catch at the Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby
Enjoy some competition on the ice this winter! The Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby returns with great categories and prizes. This event will run according to safe ice conditions.
This year, there's $2,500 in cash prizes up for grabs!!
1st place Northern Pike - $1,000 and plaque
2nd place Northern Pike - $500 and plaque
3rd place Northern Pike - $250 and plaque
Largest Yellow Perch - $375 and plaque
Largest Black Crappie - $375 and plaque
Early Bird Prize - Individual Parks Pass
Register before February 10, 2023 at noon to be entered to win an Individual Credit Valley Parks Pass.
A reminder that a valid Ontario Fishing Licence is required to participate in the derby. Ontario Family Fishing Weekend takes place February 18-20. This is a license-free fishing weekend.
Please note that daily park admission fees apply. Credit Valley Parks Pass holders get into the park for free.

About this Event
The annual Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby is a one of two derbies held at the park annually. This event was established to help connect people to nature and showcase recreational opportunities. Money raised through the derby support projects that protect, restore and enhance nature at the park.
